The Gorge

Acting as the hub for the NEC, the Gorge is the central garden space that provides orientation, decompression and interpretation for visitors.

Multistory projection towers immerse visitors in the epic scale and story of Niagara Falls. One moment the towers appear as walls of water cascading down from the floor. The next moment, they open a spectacular window onto the history of Niagara and the colorful characters who have shaped the region, such as landscape painter Frederick Edwin Church, landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, daredevil Annie Taylor, explorer Robert deLaSalle, Indian leader Red Jacket, underground railroad "conductor" Harriet Tubman, and the dueling inventors Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla.
